Social Studies

I'm James Harris, the leader of the inspirational Social Studies department. I began my post-secondary education at the University of Akron with an undergraduate degree in Geography. I then took a detour gaining immeasurable experience while serving our country in the U.S. Army. My educator path was then set in motion as I earned a Master's degree in Teaching from Kent State University. After growing up in a suburban/rural environment I knew I wanted to be part of a similar community and have been fortunate to have that as a teacher with Buckeye since 2014. My goal is to develop my students to think critically about the world around them and to build a habit of being life-long learners. My students often hear me say "Study Early and Study Often!" which I hope reminds them to use their time wisely.  Additionally, I obtained my Administrative License through certification at Cleveland State University. I hope that each day I continue being a school leader and encourage my students and colleagues.
