English Language Arts

Hello, I am Cybele Pelka-Kuty the Language Arts Department Chair. I earned my Bachelors of Arts in Education from the University of Akron. I was also the President of the Education group- ACES (Akron Council of Education Students). My first job was at the Ashland County - West Holmes Career Center as a Communications and Webdesign teacher. At the end of that school year I was excited to teach literature and writing with my job offer at Buckeye High School where I have been for 25 years. During my first five years at Buckeye I earned my Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction for the Gifted and Talented. My longevity has also provided me with many training experiences with AP College Board. I have been a Colorguard coach, created Buckeye’s Book Club and served on many committees and groups through these years. I hope to continue working with the great students at Buckeye for many years to come.
